Lighting

Use Daylight

Daylight is free so use it to your best advantage. Keep your windows clean and clear of obstructions.

Use only the light you Need

Switch off lights in empty or unused rooms. You can save as much as 15% by doing this.

Clean the light fightings Once a year

Every year you should make time to clean the light fittings to ensure their efficiency. Dirty diffusers or covers impair the radiance of the light.

Use Energy Efficient bulbs

Energy efficient or energy saver bulbs do cost money but they consume less energy to provide the same amount of light as an equivalent standard bulb.

Heating

Keep it temperate

Keeping the temperature at 19°C is sufficient and efficient. For every 1°C over this temperature heating costs rise by around 8%.

Don't heat empty rooms
